We here at Sextoys.com gets tons of emails everyday from folks with all sorts of questions. Some are directly related to sex toys, some are from teenagers who now prank email instead of prank call (which makes me feel old) and some are serious questions about sex and sexual issues that arise. While I like to think I know a lot about a lot of things, there are educated specialists trained to handle such queries.

Sure, I can recommend dildos and vibrators all day and delve into the possible solutions to some problems, but sex therapists can really be a much bigger help in certain situations. I realize that while I spend my days deep in the sex mines, many people may not even be aware that sex therapists exist or if they are aware, they may not understand what exactly it is that they do. What Does A Sex Therapist Do?

Most sex therapists have a particular awareness of sexuality that rises above personal opinion or personal experiences. We usually have several choices of ways to treat a particular issue when someone presents it. We tailor our treatment to the person(s) before us. We are not a “bigger hammer” there to coerce a person who wants less sex into wanting more. There is a sexological method to treating sexual issues. With the exception of when separate sexual surrogate therapists are added (in a very small number of cases), sex therapy is completely talk therapy.

People seek the help of sex therapists for a variety of reasons ranging from erectile dysfunction to sex addiction and couples’ sex related relationship issues.

A Not So XXX Star Trek Porn Parody

I couldn’t agree more with Salon.com’s Drew Grant when he says, “Star Trek” fans are amazing. I can’t think of one other group that would be so dedicated to removing the sex from a porn parody about their show just so they could focus more on the plot (except maybe “Battlestar” fanatics).

A big Star Trek fan removed the sex for the XXX porn parody and recreated the film with action figures. Here it is for your your enjoyment:

My Interview On Sex With Timaree

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Timaree, a sex educator who runs a podcast on her website. She interviewed me and we spent a lot of time yacking away about what I do, think and like.
