Weight Loss For Increased Libido

Friday, August 19th, 2011

Need a little motivation to get off the couch and put down the pastries?  A study in Med Page Today found that increased libido was one of the benefits of weight loss.   I’m always looking for reasons to stay in shape and ways to make people’s sex lives better so I was pretty excited when I came across this article.

eggplant vibrator

The eggplant vibrator just seemed appropriate here.

“Sexual function improved significantly and quickly in obese men with type 2 diabetes after weight loss with reduced-calorie diets, results of a small Australian clinical study showed.

Erectile function, sexual desire, and urinary symptoms all improved significantly in 31 men who lost 5% to 10% of their body weight in eight weeks.”

If you’d like to live a healthier life style, but just can’t get going, you may want to keep these positive sexual side effects in your back pocket.  Knowing that you’ll want to do it and have a better time doing it if you lose a few pounds may be just the kick in the ass you need.  I’m not suggesting anyone go to extremes here, but there’s nothing wrong with showing the old ticker a little love.

This study was aimed at men (particularly those with diabetes) and it is indeed true that the whole weight loss thing being linked to better sex mostly pertains to men.  Sorry, Ladies.  That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t maintain healthy life style.  I know the better I feel, the more inclined I am to get down and dirty!

Safe Sex Poster

Via Dangerous Minds

I was checking out one of my favorite blogs, Dangerous Minds, and came across this little gem.  I love clever ways to promote safe sex and this is definitely one of them.  The video below is an animated version of a poster that the French AIDES organization uses to promote safe sex.  They have another funny video on their website that I recommend checking out, but you have to go to their site to see it.

Celebrities Love Porn!

Monday, March 7th, 2011

I’m a little behind pop culture news with all protesting going on in the world right now, but I was pretty psyched to see this clip of Cameron Diaz talking about porn!

We couldn’t agree more, Cameron!

If you’re looking for a DVD that’s worth investing in, check out This Ain’t Glee XXX, one of my favorites of 2011!

Of course, you can always check out our online streaming sitevideo.sextoys.com if you are a fan of Video on Demand.

Breast Cancer Awareness – Early Detection and Screening

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we’re spending some time here discussing issues related to the subject of prevention of breast cancer and detecting it early.  The good news is that when breast cancer is detected early, it’s usually very treatable.  But there are many different screening options available, and knowing which one is right for you is important.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has an excellent resource collection on screening.  You can find it here.

It contains a wealth of information about the different kinds of screening techniques available, and also has some interesting links to other related information.  For instance, there’s a great to information about what to do if you find a lump.  Did you know:

- Most lumps are not cancer

- Some lumps go away on their own

- Often lumps are related to menstrual cycles

In any case, you should consult your health care provider to make sure.  We strongly suggest that you check out these great resources to find out more about the screening you should have.

And if you are in the market for a new sex toy this month, we’d appreciate your support for our Toys for Ta Tas campaign to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Breast Self Awareness

Monday, October 11th, 2010

According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, “Except for skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, but it can be successfully treated. Screening tests can find cancer early, when it’s most treatable.”  So while appropriate regular screening is important, it is equally important to understand your body and to have a healthy breast self awareness.

The organization lists 4 important aspects of breast self awareness:

1. Know your risk.

2. Get screened.

3. Know what is normal for you.

4. Make healthy lifestyle choices.

You can find more specific information, including an excellent breast self awareness (BSA) Interactive Tool on the Susan G. Komen for the Cure website.  We encourage all of our customers and friends to check out this helpful link to learn more.

And if you are in the market for a new sex toy this month, please consider purchasing from us and supporting our Toys For Ta Tas campaign to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Breast Cancer Awareness – Risk and Prevention

Friday, October 8th, 2010

Did you know that Susan G. Komen for the Cure lists over 20 different risk factors for breast cancer?  That’s the kind of information that most people can easily access, but many do not.  But the fact is that the best way to treat any cancer is to prevent it from happening in the first place.  So today, we wanted to pass along some a helpful link about risk and prevention to you.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has created a great database of information about breast cancer risk and prevention.  You can find it here.  It contains links with many details about risk groups, what you need to understand about risk and how you can increase what you are doing to prevent breast cancer.

October is breast cancer awareness month, and we wanted to take this opportunity to encourage all of our customers and friends to make sure that you are doing everything you can to lower your risk for breast cancer, and to take the actions necessary to prevent it.  And we are also running our own Toys For Ta Tas campaign to raise money to help raise money for this cause.  So we urge you to take time to study the risk factors in the link above, donate to help find a cure, and if you’re in the market for a new sex toy, help us raise money for the cure as well.

Together, we can all spread the word to help bring an end to breast cancer forever.

B4 Play Body Wipes

We’re introducing a new category to our lineup this week: Sexual Health.  Now, many of our products are specifically designed for sexual health (and many are just for fun when you’re feeling naughty), but we wanted to put a one stop shopping place on the site for you, when you just need to resupply for your next play session or on other products that are essential to your sexual health and well being.

Do you need some high quality condoms for a big weekend coming up? Is your toy cleaner supply running low?  Are you looking for a new pelvic exerciser?  Do you want to maintain prostate health with regular prostate massage? Or has your recent foray into back door play left you with a need for an anal cleansing product?  We stock a wide array of products like this for customers, but this category will give you a quick stop to order what you need and get back to what’s important, namely, enjoying your sex life!

This category contains the following:

- High quality condoms

- Toy cleaners and personal cleansing products

- Pelvic exercisers

- Prostate massagers (studies show that regular ejaculation keeps the prostate healthy)

- Enemas and Anal Douches

If you have ideas for categories, or additions to categories on Sextoys.com, drop us a line at experts@sextoys.com .  If we use your idea, we’ll send you a token of our appreciation (of the naughty variety!).
