Is Tantric Sex for real? That’s an excellent question.  Here’s the short answer: Is any orgasm for real? Yes, I know, I’ve gone all Zen with that answer and you want something more direct.  Sorry to be Captain Buzzkill, but there really isn’t a more direct answer. You see, an orgasm is as individual as anything else. What may cause one for one person may not cause one for another person.

ABC News has an article discussing celebrities and their promotion of Tantric Sex.  The article discusses some of the hype caused by this promotion, but also gives a short outline of what it Tantric Sex involves:

“In traditional sex, a couple most often uses the thrusting motion to bring themselves to orgasm. In tantric sex, couples prolong intercourse, building up sexual energy for a more intensified orgasm — or multiple ones.

Many beginners often spend several weeks doing intimacy exercises — using loving words and gentle touches — without actually having intercourse.”

I have a giant “duh” for you here.  If you prolong intercourse to build up sexual energy, use gentle touches, say loving things to each other – basically, treat each other with great respect and passion – the odds are overwhelming that sometime along this path, a massive happy orgasm is going to happen.

For me, I’m a little more old school.  I’m fine with the touching and words and respect. But the thrusting is also fine for me. Others may see it differently and I say that’s great.  Let everyone do whatever suits them best.
