The fact is that keeping toys clean is just as important for men as it is for women. These toys require as much care and maintenance as a toy that could be inserted. It may seem odd to read that, but if you consider that a urethra is an exposed opening on the body and that in a toy it is wedged into a tight space with many fluids, the transmission of bacteria into it is possible.
Why take that kind of a chance? A couple of quick tips will help to avoid this issue altogether.
First, hygienically superior materials, like silicone, are just as useful in men’s toys as they are for women. If a man is using a silicone masturbator and then cleans and stores it properly, just like the vibrator, the next time he uses it, he’ll have no bacterial issues.
Next, if a skin-like masturbator is the toy of choice, a man will find far more safety in using a condom. Even when these toys “look” entirely clean, they have the potential of harboring bacteria in their porous surfaces. Use of a condom will protect the man from a potential infection. We strongly recommend that men don’t share porous toys.
No matter which toy you choose, always remember to clean it according to the manufacturer’s suggestions. And remember that a condom can prevent many problems with toys. A little safety will help to provide more fun with your favorite toys.
